Happy Thanksgiving

A reminder about prayer:  1Thessalonians 5:16-21  Always be joyful. Always keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Do not smother the HOLY SPIRIT. Don't scoff at those who prophesy, but test everything that is said to be sure it is true, and if it is, then accept it.

It is that time of year, the time of thanks &  giving! Thankful that Jesus loved me so much, that He shed His blood for me and I want to give back to Him all that I can!

That is what Thanksgiving is to me

He has blessed us so much this year...we are all healthy and we have each other.

The question I would like to ask all of you is, what did the Lord teach you this year?  All of us are in training you know, but what did you learn this year?

This year we learned about complete faith and trust in Him.  A little lesson we all learn everyday, but this one was different.

Matthew 6:25-34 My counsel is to you: Don't worry about things, food, drink, and clothes. For you already have life and a body--and they are far more important than what to eat and wear. Look at the birds! they don't worry about what to eat--they don't need to sow or reap or store up food--for your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are all far more valuable to Him then they are. Will all your worries add a single moment to your life? And why worry about your clothes? Look at the field lilies! They don't worry about theirs. Yet King Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as beautifully as they. And if God Cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't be more surely care for you Omen of little faith? So don't worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take PRIDE in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. but your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and He will give them to you if you give Him first place in YOUR life and live as HE wants you to. So don't be anxious about tomorrow, God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.

My husband was led to leave his job of 5 years. The Lord wanted him to join with this other guy, who had just started a business. It was the same type of work. The hours were not set, work was being offered but there was no guarantee.  He was not guaranteed  a 40 hours a week.  But we knew who was in control and still is...HE is so in control.   This could not of been planned out to be this good.  My hubby mainly works 10 hours or more, so in four days he has his time in.  We are a home schooling family so this is awesome. So when we hear there is no work for the week, we look at each other, and say "Yeah right!".

But this is where the Lord was leading him and so we prayed, trusted and moved forward. We trusted with faith ( it might of been as little as a mustard seed)  but other days, faith was much bigger.

He is providing, imagine that <smile> Why do we doubt? Why is it when we say the Lord is leading me, do others question it?

(Mark 6:7 NIV)  Calling the Twelve to him, he sent
them out two by two and gave them authority over evil
spirits.

Luke 9:1  When Jesus had called the Twelve together,
he gave them power and authority to drive out all
demons and to cure diseases,
2  and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God
and to heal the sick.

We are His disciples and as such have the authority
through Him

Do we all need a guarantee in this life? Yes, this is the ONE AND ONLY Jesus did die on the cross and it was for You and me

Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven and He will NEVER leave us

Jesus is the same Today, Yesterday and Tomorrow that is a Guarantee!!!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving  a prayer I found in a magazine, it is wonderful [adapted from Charles R. Swindoll, The Finishing Touch)

A Thanksgiving Prayer

Dear Lord, On This Thanksgiving...we thank you.

LOOKING UP

We thank you, Lord.......

for your Word that gives us direction, for your commitment to us even when we wander astray, for your love that holds us close and your gentle compassion in our sorrows.

Thank you, Lord, for all you are. If  we were unable to look up into your face, Thanksgiving would be just another day.

Looking around....

We thank you, Lord,

for our wonderful country, so blessed , so unique, for close family and friendship ties, so affirming, so enjoyable, for an occupation that provides a place to live, clothes to wear and food to eat. Thank you Lord, for such incredible abundance. By just looking around, we are made away of how rich we really are.

LOOKING within:

Thank you, Lord....

for minds that are curious, creative, and competent, for heartaches and lingering afflictions that force us to rearrange our priorities, for a sense of humor that brings healing and hope. This Thanksgiving, oh Lord, not Thankskeeping. And so we pause to declare to you these expressions of gratitude. They are merely an overview of the thousand of things for which we are thankful. To you goes all the glory! Amen
