Psalm 13
"How
long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will
you hide your face from me?
How long must I
wrestle with my thoughts
and everyday
have sorrow in my heart?
How long will
my enemy triumph over me ?
Look on me
and answer, O Lord my God.
Give light to
my eyes, or I will sleep in death; my enemy
will say,
"I have overcome him, and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust
in your unfailing love:
my heart
rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he
has been good
to me."
14:5
..."for God is present in the company of the righteous."
16:1-2
"Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge."
I said to the
Lord, "You are my Lord;
apart from you
I have no good thing."
16:7-11
"I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night
my heart instructs me.
I have set the
Lord always before me.
Because he is
at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my
heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also
will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
You have made
known to me the path of life;
you will fill
me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right
hand."
Psalm 18:1-3
"I love
you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my
rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my
rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield
and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call to the
Lord who is worthy to be praised and I am saved from my enemies!"
18:28-36
"You, O
Lord, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my
darkness into light.
With your
help I can advance against a troop;
with my God I
can scale a wall.
As for God,
his way is perfect;
the word
of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
For who is
God besides the LORD?
And who is the
ROCK except our GOD?
It is God
who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.
He makes my
feet like the feet of a deer;
he enables me
to stand on the heights.
He trains my
hands for battle;
my arms can
bend a bow of bronze.
You give me
your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me;
you stoop down
to make me great.
You broaden
the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn."
